Cuban coin issued in silver (first dated 1915) and gold (first dated 1915). Equal to 100 centavos. It is also the name of the official Cuban currency unit (i.e. Cuban peso code: CUC).

 

During the First Republic, Cuban pesos coins were issued in the following denominations:

  • Un peso (1 peso), both in silver and in gold
  • Dos pesos (2 pesos), only in gold
  • Cuatro pesos (4 pesos), only in gold
  • Cinco pesos (5 pesos), only in gold
  • Diez pesos (10 pesos), only in gold
  • Veinte pesos (20 pesos), only in gold
